Homemade Croissants

Ingredients
For the Dough:
4 cups (500g) all-purpose flour
¼ cup (50g) granulated sugar
2 tsp instant yeast
1½ tsp salt
1 cup (240ml) warm milk
¼ cup (60ml) warm water
2 tbsp (28g) unsalted butter, melted
For the Butter Block:
1 cup (226g) cold unsalted butter
For Brushing:
1 egg + 1 tbsp milk (for egg wash)

Instructions
Make the Dough
In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk, water, yeast, and sugar. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy. Add melted butter, flour, and salt. Mix to form a dough. Knead for about 8 minutes until smooth. Wrap and chill for 30 minutes.
Prepare the Butter Block
Place the cold butter between two sheets of parchment paper and flatten it into a rectangle about 6×8 inches (15×20 cm). Chill until firm.
