Preparation:
Wash the aronia berries thoroughly and place them in a saucepan.
Add water and simmer over low heat for about 15 minutes until the berries are soft.
Then puree the berries or gently mash them with a pestle.
Add the sugar and lemon juice, mix well, and simmer for another 40–50 minutes to allow the jam to thicken nicely.
While the jam is still hot, transfer it to sterilized jars, seal tightly, and pasteurize for about 10 minutes, or turn the jars upside down and let them cool.
Store in a cool, dark place.
