2 cups (480 ml) buttermilk or 1½ cups (360 ml) milk + 1 tbsp vinegar (let sit 10 mins)

2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour

1/2 cup (65g) cornflour (for extra crunch)

1 tsp baking powder

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp paprika

1 tsp black pepper

1 tsp onion powder

1 tsp salt (or to taste)

1/2 tsp cayenne pepper or dry pepper (optional, for heat)

Vegetable oil for deep frying
