Instructions:
Prepare the bread:
Lightly roll out the bread slices to make them thinner and more flexible. This is best done with a rolling pin.
Spread with Nutella:
Spread a thin layer of Nutella on each slice.
Roll:
Roll up the bread slices to form small tubes. Gently press the ends to prevent the rolls from unraveling.
Prepare the French toast mix:
In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract (if using), and a pinch of salt.
Dip the rolls:
Carefully dip the Nutella rolls into the egg and milk mixture so they are thoroughly coated but do not fall apart.
Fry:
Heat a pan over medium heat and add a little butter or oil.
Place the rolls in the pan and fry until golden brown and crispy on all sides. This takes about 2-3 minutes per side.
Serve:
Remove the rolls from the pan and let them drain on a plate.
Dust with powdered sugar, if desired, and serve with fresh fruit or syrup.
