2 teaspoons sugar
1 pinch of salt
1 cup flour
1 cup milk
Breading fat
Powdered sugar
Season the batter with lemon zest, if desired.
Preparation:
Whisk the eggs, sugar, and salt,
add the sifted flour and milk to form a thick batter. Hold the waffle iron in the heated fat and let it heat up. Immediately dip it into the batter, making sure it doesn’t overflow the sides of the pan. Hold the waffle iron with the batter still clinging to it in the fat bath, where the batter will immediately release. Bake until golden brown, remove from the pan, and dust with powdered sugar.
