🥩 Meatballs in Tomato Sauce
Ingredients (makes about 6):
• 700 g ground meat (a mixture of pork and beef or poultry)
• 1 egg
• 3 tbsp breadcrumbs
• 1 small onion (finely chopped or grated)
• 2 garlic cloves (crushed)
• 1 tsp salt
• 1/2 tsp pepper
• 1 tsp marjoram
Filling:
• 2 gherkins or pickles (cut into strips)
• 1 red bell pepper (cut into strips)
• 50 g bacon or ham (optional, cut into strips)
Sauce:
• 500 ml passata
• 250 ml broth
• 1 onion (diced)
• 1 tsp sweet paprika
• 1 tsp sugar
• Salt, pepper to taste
• 2 tbsp Oil
