Tandoori Tilapia Fry Recipe

Whole Tilapia – 2 (cleaned, descaled, with deep slits)
Thick curd (dahi) – 3 tbsp (hung curd preferred)
Ginger-garlic paste – 1Β½ tbsp
Kashmiri red chili powder – 2 tsp (for color and mild heat)
Regular red chili powder – Β½ tsp (for extra heat)
Turmeric powder – Β½ tsp
Coriander powder – 1 tsp
Cumin powder – Β½ tsp
Garam masala – Β½ tsp
Chaat masala – Β½ tsp (optional)
Lemon juice – 1 tbsp
Mustard oil – 1 tbsp (for authentic flavor)
Salt – to taste
Orange-red food color – a pinch (optional)
Butter or ghee – for frying/basting
