3. Pretzel Pie Crust
Ingredients (for a 9-inch pie)
1 ½ cups (150 g) finely crushed pretzels
¼ cup (50 g) granulated sugar
½ cup (1 stick / 113 g) unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
1️⃣ Preheat oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch pie pan or line with parchment.
2️⃣ Mix crust
In a bowl, combine crushed pretzels + sugar. Add melted butter and stir until mixture is evenly moistened.
3️⃣ Press into pan
Press mixture firmly into the bottom and up the sides of the pie pan using a flat-bottomed cup or your fingers. Ensure crust is even and compacted so it holds together.
4️⃣ Bake
Bake 8–10 minutes until lightly golden and fragrant. Let cool completely before adding filling.
Tips for Pretzel Crust
Finely crush pretzels for a smoother, more cohesive crust.
Press firmly to prevent crumbling when slicing.
Can be made ahead and stored at room temperature for a few days or in the fridge for up to a week.
Works beautifully with: chocolate cream pies, peanut butter pies, cheesecake, or fruit pies.
