Ingredients for Stuffed Skillet Rolls
For about 6 rolls:

Flour: 400g
Milk: 250ml
Melted butter: 40g
Salt: 1 teaspoon
For the filling

Grated cheese: Amount to taste (Emmental, mozzarella, cheddar).
Choice of cold cuts: Ham, turkey, salami, or dry sausage.

Tip: You can customize the filling with grilled vegetables, tomato sauce, or fresh herbs.

Step 1: Preparing the Roll Dough
Mixing the dry ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the flour and salt.
Adding the liquid ingredients: Gradually pour in the warm milk while mixing, then stir in the melted butter.
Kneading: Knead the dough by hand or with a stand mixer until it becomes soft and smooth. This takes about 10 minutes.
Resting the dough: Form a ball, cover it with a clean cloth, and let it rest in a warm place for 30 minutes. The dough should rise slightly.

Step 2: Shaping the Rolls
Divide the dough: On a floured work surface, divide the dough into 6 equal portions.
Roll out the pieces: Flatten each portion into a disc about 15 cm in diameter.
Add the filling: Place a generous portion of grated cheese and a slice of cold cuts in the center of each disc.
Seal the rolls: Bring the edges of the disc to the center and pinch them to seal. Gently roll each roll into a ball.

Step 3: Pan-Frying
Heat the pan: Place a non-stick pan over medium heat and lightly grease it with a little butter or oil.
Bake the rolls: Arrange the rolls, seam-side down, and bake for about 5 minutes per side. They should be golden brown and puffed up.
Let them cool slightly. Remove them from the pan and place them on a wire rack to prevent them from softening underneath.
